With the mobile subscriber base growing like weed,
websites have started orienting business towards the million users
plugged in through their mobile devices. With this, Google has issued
warning against websites
with bad mobile experience to fix the issues as failure to do so might
lead to loss of rank in mobile search results page for Google Search.
According to Google’s Yoshikiyo Kato and Pierre Far, “To
improve the search experience for smartphone users and address their
pain points, we plan to roll out several ranking changes in the near
future that address sites that are misconfigured for smartphone users.”
The duo continued by sharing two common mobile configuration mistakes
in their blog post and has suggested solutions to improve smartphone
search experience for users. Faulty redirects, where users are
redirected to the main webpage rather than a mobile optimized version of
the same, and display error of mobile webpages are few of the common
mistakes committed, as sorted out in the official blog.
Google
has been working hard in improving mobile experience for its users as
the company continues to earn large chunk of revenue from its mobility
division. According to Google, configuring mobile webpages properly will
“improve the mobile web, make your users happy, and allow searchers to
experience and experience your content fully.”
